Giving back to Healthcare

During this stressful and uncertain time- I wanted to compile a list of all the companies giving back to healthcare professionals to spread some love.

  1. Headspace

Headspace is giving a year free to all health care professionals. I love this app! As this pandemic and quarantine continues- I find my anxiety is rising. This app offers quick session based on your availability to center yourself and relax. There are programs to help you sleep, mediations while you go for your daily walks around the neighborhood, and daily helpful intentions.

2. Crocs

Crocs is giving away free shoes every Monday- Friday at 12PM EST. You don’t get to choose the design- I ended up with a yellow pair, some have had American flag, and even leopard print. But the shoes are so comfy- a surprise print is fine by me!

HINT: It’s very competitive- they open up the line 1 hour before. So get there early and have your hospital address on hand. If you wait too long to fill out the form- you’ll get kicked out and no crocs

3. Figs

Figs is doing the absolute most I’ve seen from a company. They are sending care packages, stocking scrubs, PPE AND raised over $100,000 for the First Responders Fund . To receive care packages or scrub donation- be sure to have your managers name and contact info so they can verify needs!

4. Tide- Loads of Hope Program

Seerosego is offering free clothing to all plus size medical workers. Their sizing STARTS at 14 and sizes up 28. They have different names for their sizes so be sure to check out their size chart as well.

10. BP

The gas station chain is offering a discount of 50 cents off per gallon for first responders and healthcare workers the next time they fill up at BP or Amoco gas stations in the U.S. You do have to register with RealID to verify- then next time you pull up just login in and you get 50 cents off!

11. White Castle

Offering totally free meals to healthcare workers throughout the month of April. If you’re a healthcare worker in need of a quick bite, swing through a White Castle drive-thru, flash an ID, and they’ll set you up.

You must do drive-thru, a representative tells Thrillist. That’s the only avenue to a free meal through the chain. The offer can be redeemed daily through April 30.

You’ll get one free Combo Meal (1-6) or a Breakfast Combo. If you don’t have the White Castle menu memorized, those options include The Original Slider, Double Cheese Slider, Chicken Breast Slider, Fish Slider, six-piece order of Chicken Rings, or a Chicken Ring Slider. All of the combo meals come with a small order of french fries and a beverage. That’s just enough slider combos for you to change it up every day of the week.

Nurses House, a national fund for nurses in need, has established a special grant for RNs and LPNs who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, are caring for a family member who has COVID-19, or are on employer-mandated quarantine due to COVID-19 (excluding nurses who are furloughed due to workplace closure). Take advantage of these deals while you can, because soon this will be over and we’ll be back to paying for our cup of coffee and food.
